Non Syrian nationals can own properties in Syria based on reciprocity with the rules and regulations in their country of origin. The Syrian laws set various grounds of ownership to non Syrian nationals.

Having examined the ways of acquiring pieces of properties in the Syrian Arab Republic, the most viable solution is to establish a Syrian company, which will effectively be the owner of the purchased property.

There are 4 types of companies:

  • Joint stock company
  • Limited liability company.
  • Joint liability company (partnership).
  • Simple sleeping partnership.

The incorporation of companies is governed under the Syrian Laws, namely the commercial law. It is advisable to check with a legal advisor.
